How it Works
VP WebAccess works like a web site, except that customized access is provided to each visitor. For example, you and your designated staff have full access, responsible parties have access to appointment and account information related only to their contracts, and your colleagues can view treatment information for patients they have referred or are also treating. Each user is provided with a unique password to ensure absolute confidentiality of your sensitive patient data. Data is extracted from your ORTHO
II system and transferred to a secure server giving your contacts access to the most current information.

Yes, on-line payments are also possible! When this feature is activated, your responsible parties may use a credit card to make payments to their accounts directly from your
VP WebAccess site. Payments posted on-line are then automatically synced with your ViewPoint or OneTouch data each night so that they appear in your system by the start of the next business day.

II, it is the only service of its kind that integrates so smoothly with your ORTHO
II practice management system, which enables important things like posting payments and recording
VP WebAccess correspondence in your OneTouch or ViewPoint system; features that would not be possible through a third party.

II customers.
Security and VP WebAccess
We know security is of the utmost importance to you and your patients. That's why all information shared on
VP WebAccess is encrypted with the same technology used by banks and trading companies to ensure absolute protection of your data over the Internet. In addition, data is transferred via http, making
VP WebAccess firewall friendly.
Is a Web Site Needed?
VP WebAccess can be implemented without a practice web site or linked to an existing site.
Requirements
VP WebAccess can be implemented whether you use ViewPoint or OneTouch.
ViewPoint users must be running Version 2.1, Build 1232 or greater and OneTouch customers must have Revision P or greater.
Your operating system must be Windows 95 or newer;
VP WebAccess cannot be run with MultiWare.
An Internet connection is also necessary. We strongly recommend a DSL, cable modem or other type of high-speed connection if available in your area. ISDN would be the next preference. A modem connection will also suffice, but is recommended only if no other type of connection is available, since the data sync may not complete if the modem receives a busy signal or is terminated due to any other type of phone line or modem interruption, among other drawbacks.
We recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or greater for your web browser.
In short, if you can get to the Internet from a computer that can access your practice data, you are ready for
VP WebAccess, however, for best performance and reliability, the type of Internet connection is also important.
